La Noche de San Juan en Playa de Mogan
23 Junio 2007
Celebrations on the Eve of St John the Baptist's Day, which included the 3rd annual FotoSub Gran Canaria Costa Mogan underwater photography competition. Live music, a bonfire, roasting corn and pineapples, fire-eaters, jugglers on stilts and flag and fish-wavers all added to the atmosphere. For many it is traditional to immerse themselves in the sea on this night - for the kids, just another excuse to play in the water! Earlier on in the evening there were bonfires dotted all around the valley - another tradition, which is repeated on the St. Peter's Eve a few days later.
